Justine Bruder is a Ph.D. student at the University of Liverpool. She graduated with a Master’s degree in International Relations and Security, in which she researched Populist trends in the European Union. Her current research focuses on the root causes of child trafficking specific to West Africa and aims to reveal gaps or weaknesses in existing anti-trafficking policy initiatives. She works alongside Professor Balch, who is supervising the research, as well as with the rest of the APRIES team. She is currently participating in the analysis of qualitative data collected through the APRIES Anti-Trafficking Research and Programming Project. In addition to using data made available by APRIES, Justine plans to incorporate in depth interviews with key policy actors in West Africa. As a native French speaker, her contribution is particularly valuable for research in Guinea and Senegal.
