Dr. Pedro Goulart

Data Analyst
In his role as Data Analyst, Dr. Goulart is involved with CenHTRO’s research projects using quantitative methods, including survey design, programming and testing, data processing and analysis, and regression analysis. He is a quantitative social scientist who earned his Ph.D. in political science and international affairs at the University of Georgia, specializing in conflict studies and foreign policy behavior. During his graduate studies, he was an Oskar Morgenstern Fellow with the Mercatus Center, and earned the Christopher S. Allen Award for Teaching Excellence from UGA’s Department of International Affairs. In his dissertation, he conducted statistical studies of how international external shocks affect the behavior of states toward nuclear weapons. His main research interests are in conflict studies, human security, and the use of quantitative and computational methods in the social sciences. He’s originally from Brazil, where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
