Director of Communications

André Gallant is the Director of Communications for the Center for Human Trafficking Research and Outreach. He earned a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Narrative Media Writing from the University of Georgia in 2017. He also earned an undergraduate degree in journalism from UGA in 2010. A veteran newspaper reporter, multimedia producer, publisher, editor and author, André specializes in journalism about migration, refugee resettlement, the environment and agriculture. His work often highlights how national and global forces impact small communities. He is the author of “A High Low Tide: The Revival of a Southern Oyster,” a work of narrative nonfiction, published by the University of Georgia Press in 2018, detailing efforts to rekindle Georgia’s dormant oyster industry.
