Shaëny Cassim-Itibar is a PhD student at the University of Liverpool. She graduated with a Master’s degree in International Criminal Justice, in which she researched the key issues of post-conflict reconstruction of survivors of wartime sexual violence. Her current research focuses on survivor centred justice in anti-trafficking efforts in Senegal. She works alongside Professor Balch, who is supervising the research, as well as with the rest of the APRIES team. As a native French speaker, her contribution is particularly valuable for research in Senegal.
