Annette Mkandawire Makonyola is a Socio-Economic Development Expert with eleven years of experience working in development and humanitarian sector by using innovative methods to address poverty and any form of human suffering. Annette has spent most of her career working with international NGOs. In the recent years, she was key at implementing a living wage programme within the tea sector in Malawi. In this programme she supported convening relevant government ministries, the private sector, NGOs and the civil society to achieve a living wage impacting over 50 000 tea workers. She has also worked in programmes to do with climate change and sustainable energy; gender and development; and child rights advocacy. Annette holds an MSc in International Development from University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom under the prestigious Chevening scholarship.
